Icelandic Language Courses
MSS is offering Icelandic courses for beginners as well as advanced learners. The goal is to offer Icelandic courses based on each person´s ability.
The Icelandic courses will focus on comprehension, speaking, writing, listening, reading and grammar.
MSS sends information about courses by e-mail to students, a few days before the course starts.
The course starts when minimum participation is reached. MSS reserves the right to move and change dates and times if necessary.
A minimum of 80% attendance is required to receive a graduation certificate at he end of the course.
If a course is paid for by a company/institution or the person is entitled to a grant due to course fees, MSS must be informed at the time of registration.

Description: Stig A.0 - Að lesa og skrifa á íslensku er námsleið fyrir fullorðna af erlendum uppruna sem eru ólæsir eða illa læsir á latneskt letur. Áhersla er á grunnfærni í íslensku og að bæta hæfni viðkomandi í að lesa og skrifa á íslensku. Nemendur læra einfaldan grunnorðaforða sem nýtist í daglegu lífi og þjálfa sig á einföldum setningum. Æft er að tala, skilning, lestur og að skrifa einfalda texta og setningar. Tölur, tákn og greinamerki eru einnig þjálfuð.
Level A.0 - Reading and writing in Icelandic is a way of learning for adults of foreign origin who are illiterate or poorly literate in Latin script.
Emphasis is on basic skills in Icelandic and improving the ability to read and write in Icelandic. Students learn simple basic vocabulary that is useful in everyday life and train themselves in simple sentences. Speaking, understanding, reading and writing simple texts and sentences are practiced. Numbers, symbols and punctuation marks are also trained in the program.
